Shooting clays, whether it be the games of trap, skeet, or sporting clays, is a great and addictive sport.  There is great satisfaction watching a clay target break, and even greater sense of satisfaction when a person breaks 25 straight in trap/skeet or scores 80 to 90 and even higher on the sporting clays course.

Clays sport shooting is an equal opportunity sport; a person’s age, how fast they run or how strong they are don’t matter in this sport.  Its mastery of the fundamentals and practice that gets folks to the top of the different games of clay sports. 

If you are just starting out in this sport, or struggling to improve your game, I can help you learn the fundamentals as well as help you with the advance concepts used when shooting clays.

The various games of clay sports shooting are fun, lively, and rewarding.  There is a sense of delight when one breaks clays.  The gun swing, the harmonizing with the clay, and then the delivery of the shot, and seeing that clay break is to say the least, exhilarating.

Clay sport shooting takes many forms, such as trap, skeet, or sporting clays with all the variations of each of the three major game categories, all of which are great fun.

However, learning how to shoot clays can be, for some, a frustrating endeavor.  It can be made easier by learning the fundamental of shooting a shotgun as well as learning the various rules and the uniqueness of each of the games through the guidance of a coach.

Pricing

All instruction is $80.00 per hour (additional half hour period $35.00)

  • There is a 1-hour minimum requirement for all instruction.

  • Maximum training period of 3 hours

  • Maximum of three student for any periods of instruction.

Each additional student costs $35.00 per hour per student

  • Cost of clays – are an additional cost and vary depending on teaching location. See below*

  • Shotgun ammunition restricted to

    • 2 ¾ length shell

    • No more than 1300 fps

    • Shot size 7 ½, 8 or 9

    • No reloaded ammunition – factory ammo only

  • Students must have their own gun and ammunition

  • Must be 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent. Parent to stay at the range for the entire duration of training

    Commercial gun clubs generate their operating revenue through the cost of clays thrown.  Private gun clubs do not generally have the overhead of commercial gun clubs and therefore can charge significantly less than commercial facilities.  Clay costs can be up to 50 cents per clay.  A typical lesson will consume at least 75 to 125 clays, however each lesson will be different based on the students background and ability.
